Not sure I got it right: all in day’s work? It was supposed to be a compliment, but… it got lost, I think.

Hahaha, good. I took it as a compliment from the start, although (1) it is true that when phrases leap across the pond they sometimes lose, or even reverse, their tone; and (2) I was long known in my workplaces as the guy who insisted on taking all feedback as a compliment, even when it was intended as an insult 🙂
