Thanks, Anita. I’ve never seen a café with better atmosphere for writers and artists (and right in the heart of Mexico City in a neighborhood suited for international drifters and local literati).
These are, the places of culture, not on the, tour guides, the most interesting places, to, meet the, interesting prople, that most of us, tourists would, miss out on, because, they’re not, found on the, tour guide books, the “must-visit”, locations.
So true. Wandering aimlessly through neighborhoods — especially in places like Mexico City — beats the tour guide every time (although tour guides do sometimes help point toward which neighborhoods to wander 🙂 )
Thanks for sharing this idea. Anita

Gabi’s Café in Cuauhtémoc is also worth mentioning.

Thanks for the tip, Bob! Gabi’s looks like a pleasant walking distance from Condesa’s Guardatiempos (in this wonderfully walkable city 🙂 ).
