Ah, Nessa, now it gets more complicated. I initially liked the contrast/composition of the tree trunk (yes, it’s a tree trunk 🙂 ) pic better, but the majority has cautiously swayed me toward the lush green. (I am more democratic with feedback/majorities with stuff like this than I am with my fiction/poetry, where I consider all feedback but where my own vision has a stronger controlling authority.) I know what you mean — more to choose from is better — maybe one day … 🙂
In general, green is my favorite color, but I think the story influenced my choice. There is travel, transformation, movement in mind, body, and spirit. The second photo has the book sitting on a transition from sand to lush and back again, which seems more emblematic of the story.
Ah, nice! I was thinking of the two pics of “Alice” above the asterisks, but thanks for the Hippies feedback. I think that’s a good point about clean design! Gary
First one! Great job 👍

I’m undecided whetherI prefer the Green one or the starkness of the second.
On reflection I think the majority vot has it. The FIRST ONE. Hugs

Any other choices? The foliage is overpowering the cover in the first one. I liked the second a bit more. The sand allows the cover to stand out more.

It’s nice to know that someone out there thinks about my books more deeply than I do 😂. Thanks and kudos, Nessa!

It’s important to have something that quickly points out type of book and also is easy to see as a thumbnail
